As a member of the technical services team, reporting to the chief mechanical engineer, you will provide mechanical engineering support to provide technical solutions to Cameco site operations, projects, and other business units. Position and Responsibilities
As a member of the technical services team, reporting to the chief mechanical engineer, you will provide mechanical engineering support to provide technical solutions to Cameco site operations, projects, and other business units. In addition to performing mechanical design, you will be responsible for scope development, planning, and cost estimating to support business cases over the asset life cycle.
You are responsible for ensuring that the design work is done in accordance with Camecos processes, procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for developing and integrating mechanical design standards for Cameco and mentoring other mechanical engineers and technologists.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering
Seven to 12 years of relevant industry experience
Equivalent combination of education and work experience will also be considered
You must be eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) and Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
Experience in pumping, piping (process and power), building services piping, piping stress analysis, and developing technical specifications. Having some experience with HVAC systems and process plant automation would be an asset
Experience in working with mechanical technologists in developing intelligent 3D process plant/ equipment designs, intelligent P&IDs/ schematics, and working with 3D laser scan point cloud data would be an asset
Knowledge of pressure vessels, atmospheric tanks, ASME B31.1 code, ASME B31.3 code, Boiler and Pressure Vessel code (BPVC), Welding standards, and CSA B51 Boiler, Pressure Vessel, and Pressure Piping Code
