The Property Assessor plays an integral role in the process of collecting and recording property data for assessment and taxation purposes. This process includes the annual maintenance process of inspecting and recording all changes made to properties, including new construction, additions, renovations and demolitions, and responding to property owner inquiries regarding the accuracy of their property assessment data. The Property Assessor plays an integral role in the process of collecting and recording property data for assessment and taxation purposes. This process includes the annual maintenance process of inspecting and recording all changes made to properties, including new construction, additions, renovations and demolitions, and responding to property owner inquiries regarding the accuracy of their property assessment data. Also included are special projects to review the accuracy of data on existing properties that require inspection or to collect additional data in support of the valuation modelling process.

The successful candidate will require knowledge of all Acts, Laws and Regulations pertaining to Valuation and Property Assessment, be able to interpret various documents such as, Land Titles, Options to purchase, Agreements for Sale, blueprints and building plans. As well, the ability to analyze and quantify all market factors affecting property assessment
