We have an Internship position available for a Design Engineer at Brandt Industries Ltd. in Regina, SK.

Design Engineers are competent technical people who have demonstrated an aptitude for machine design. Examples include tube and pipe equipment, mobile mining and rail vehicles, etc. These people are responsible for design validation and verification where necessary, and their primary objective is the creation of engineering design deliverables, especially 3D CAD models.  Successful applicants will have great mechanical/electrical intuition and well developed technical and rational skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Use 3D CAD to develop products.
- Use a combination of 2D CAD and other tools to develop overall system designs.
- Focus on DFx, i.e. Design For Manufacturability, Serviceability, Reliability, Affordability, etc.
- Produce engineering deliverables that meet Quality, Cost and Schedule requirements.
- Mentor younger designers to help develop personnel.

Qualifications:

- Professional Engineer with 2+ years experience
- Extensive experience in machine design and 3D CAD
- Excellent communication skills  written and verbal
- Product knowledge in the platform area
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent work ethic

KPI'S:

- Engineering deliverables meet the particular Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives of the projects undertaken.
- Design completeness and correctness.
- Attitude and commitment to Continuous Improvement of Engineering Processes
