Job Description
The Unified Head, Department of Anesthesiology will provide the leadership necessary to ensure the seamless integration of the academic and clinical activities of the department.
The Unified Head reports directly to the Dean and Health Region Vice President. The Unified Head is accountable for the leadership of the department and for contributing to the leadership of the College of Medicine
The Unified Head, Department of Anesthesiology will provide the leadership necessary to ensure the seamless integration of the academic and clinical activities of the department.
The Unified Head reports directly to the Dean and Health Region Vice President. The Unified Head is accountable for the leadership of the department and for contributing to the leadership of the College of Medicine and the health regions. Accountabilities include the creation, alignment and implementation of the departments teaching, research and clinical plans and ensuring the academic and clinical quality of the department.
The Unified Heads major responsibilities include: support the goals and priorities of the health region; full participation in the planning processes for the college and the health region; oversight of the academic and clinical work of the department; ensuring accountability of the Provincial Academic Clinical Funding Plan (P-ACFP); recruiting, developing and retaining high-quality clinicians, faculty and staff; prudent and responsible management of financial resources and the use of those resources to their best advantage for the purposes for which they were intended; provision of a healthy and positive work and learning environment.
The Department seeks an experienced and visionary leader who has an established academic track record, administrative leadership experience, and strong interpersonal skills. The Unified Head will be an MD or MD/PhD and have the ability to achieve professional certification in Saskatchewan. The Unified Heads ability to be an ambassador for the Saskatchewan community, open minds and raise performance levels will have long lasting effects on the University of Saskatchewans national and international reputation.
