The Western Beef Development Centre (WBDC) is seeking a Ranch Hand/Project Assistant. The WBDC has ranch and offices in Saskatoon, Lanigan, Humboldt and Melfort.
Job Description: The Ranch Hand/Project Assistant will work in a team of about 5 and report to the Ranch Supervisor. The candidate will be involved in supporting all aspects of cow/calf ranch activities as well as some cropping activities. The candidate will also support research projects and the associated activities.
Qualifications:
Experience in beef cow/calf production
The ability to work in a team environment
The ability to operate farm machinery
The ability to perform physically demanding work
The ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols
The ability to work outdoors in all weather
A Valid Class 5 drivers license
Terms: The position is permanent full time working a 40 hour week and willing to work overtime and the irregular hours associated with cow/calf production. Shared accommodation will be available in the ranch house while working at the Lanigan Ranch. PAMI offers a competitive wage and an extensive benefits package.

It manages a 300-head herd and 2500 acres of range and cropland for research and technology transfer. As a link between "the lab and the land", WBDC communicates directly with the research community and the cattle industry. Practical and applicable research is used to provide technologies that enable producers to become increasingly competitive in today's marketplace.
