The MLTC Child & Family Services Department (CFS) is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Screening Intake Assessment / Child Protection Worker. The successful candidate will work as part of the MLTC CFS Team in providing direct services in family support, and prevention/protection to children and their families

The MLTC Child & Family Services Department (CFS) is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Screening Intake Assessment / Child Protection Worker. The successful candidate will work as part of the MLTC CFS Team in providing direct services in family support, and prevention/protection to children and their families
- The duty and responsibility of the Screening Intake Assessment / Child Protection Worker is to receive, screen and validate all reports of child maltreatment as identified in Section 11 of the Child & Family Services Act. Conduct child protection enquiries / investigations as assigned by a CFS Supervisor. Identify children who are at risk of or being maltreated due to acts of omission by their parents, care givers, or any person who is in a capacity of loco-parentis and intervene to remediate the issues/conditions that exist within the family which cause that child/ren to be in need of protection as per legal mandate of the Saskatchewan Child & Family Services Act
Qualifications:
- The applicants must possess a Bachelor?s Degree in Social Work/Indian Social Work with experience in child protection
- Be knowledgeable in the dynamics of child abuse/neglect, family violence, addictions, poverty, and oppression
- Be knowledgeable in child/community development and be able to formulate/document family assessments, case plans, program plans, etc
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in computer applications (i.e. AIS Database; Microsoft-Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- They must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity, and personal wellness
- They must be willing to work flexible hours with extensive travel involved
- Be familiar with and understand First Nation barriers/issues/culture
- Ability to speak Cree and/or Dene is an asset
