Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with school staff and community prevention workers to explore and develop a wide range of community strengthening events and activities.
Works conscientiously with a variety of stakeholders to support a better understanding of the needs of the community and a shared commitment for community wellness.
Diligently provides the community with meaningful learning opportunities designed to support the early learners of each
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with school staff and community prevention workers to explore and develop a wide range of community strengthening events and activities.
Works conscientiously with a variety of stakeholders to support a better understanding of the needs of the community and a shared commitment for community wellness.
Diligently provides the community with meaningful learning opportunities designed to support the early learners of each community such as Information sessions, reading instruction, community gatherings and education activities for parents and caregivers of children 0-7 years.
Creates a positive, open atmosphere where community members can come together to socialize, gather with relatives and friends, network and connect to other resources.
Creates opportunities for community members to contribute to projects that are participatory and collaborative.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of provincial and other curriculum resources and materials, as well as other resources that may be accessible to communities in supporting the learning of children 0-7 years.
Skilled facilitation skills, and ability to organize a variety of activities and opportunities for a variety of communities and stakeholders.
The principles and practice of effective teaching and learning with the ability to communicate that to a variety of stakeholders.
Knowledge and understanding of the use of new and emerging technologies and research to support teaching and learning for children 0-7 years.
Ability to foster genuine trusting relationships with staff, families and communities.
Mutual respect by affirming and empowering others to work in the best interests of all students.
A Bachelors degree in Education at a minimum
A valid Professional A Saskatchewan teachers certificate
Pre-K 12 Classroom teaching experience
Knowledge of best practice in Canadian First Nations education, federal education systems and Treaty Rights to education.
