Summary: The duties of an associate in the Accounting One role vary greatly. As the entry-level role in the accounting division, applicants could be performing only a few of the Accounting One duties or all of them, depending on their experience and the size of the structure of the Regional Accounting team.

Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities: (Abbreviated)
Balance daily cash receipts, handle customer queries relating to billings, act as liaison to the Catering Department and the Front Desk.
Receive and reconcile all cash, cheques, and credit card/debit card payments received by the hotel and prepare bank deposits.
The process of all accounts payable as required in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate accounts payable files at the property level.
Follow up with all guest inquiries in a timely fashion and laisse with or forward to the applicable department.
Co-ordination of all Food & Beverage invoices including accurate month-end inventories that reflect current pricing and month end counts. As well, verify all food and beverage sales to Point-of-Sale reports.
Assist with duties that are critical to the preparation of the monthly financial reporting.
Support all department managers regarding their expenses, providing information as requested.
Assist with year-end audit.
Perform AR duties including the posting of payments, set up direct bill accounts and all levels of the collection process.
Maintain accounting standards with established policies and procedures.
Set up and maintain House accounts
Prepare accounts for month end statements.
Prepare daily deposit spreadsheet for audit package, as well as credit/debit/cash summary for bank reconciliation.
Maintain, distribute, reconcile, and replenish floats.
Knowledge of all hotel services. E.g. - hours of operation and facilities of the hotel.
Communicate and coordinate guests needs to other hotel associates/departments.
Identify and resolve all guest concerns/complaints to their satisfaction.
