Job Description
Duties and responsibilities:
Support initiatives that protect, promote, and enhance the Cree Language & Culture programming.
Stay informed on current Cree Language & Culture programs that are available and applicable for the LLRIB Schools and Students.
Responsible for providing new curricula & language development information to the LLRIB Schools.
Develop, recommend, and implement Cree curriculum and resources.

Stay informed on current Cree Language & Culture programs that are available and applicable for the LLRIB Schools and Students.
Responsible for providing new curricula & language development information to the LLRIB Schools.
Develop, recommend, and implement Cree curriculum and resources.
Work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues to share ideas and strategies that will keep students interested and motivated in learning;
Assist teachers in developing Cree language & culture programs, and advise education authorities in relevant program policy and direction.
Work with teachers to ensure that Cree language & culture lessons are interesting, effective and current;
Assist with planning and organizing staff development activities for Cree language & culture.
Maintain regular school visits and provide support for the Cree language and culture programs in schools.
Develop and produce relevant teaching materials and resources.
Liaise closely with Cree Language teachers and provide advice and assistance related to lesson plans;
Assist teachers to prepare and review lesson plans, as well as selecting learning materials that will engage students interest and help them learn more effectively/efficiently;
Incorporate language arts fundamentals into reading and writing exercises;
Develop and lead program innovation;
Attend professional development opportunities when required;
Requirements:
Bachelor of Education or higher, as well as a minimum Professional A Teaching Certificate;
5 years minimum teaching experience an asset
Knowledge of Saskatchewan Education curriculum an asset;
Must provide a satisfactory Drivers Abstract and Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
