North Sask Victim Services(NSVS)is a non-profit organization that works in cooperation with the RCMP to provide assistance to victims of crime and traumatic events. The Ile A La Crosse Assistant Coordinator is a part time position (.5FTE) attached to the local RCMP detachment and is responsible to ensure the delivery of quality service to clients within the detachment area and also the NAD as required.
Duties include the overall management of a police-affiliated Victim Service program, recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers, collaboration with community partners and direct service delivery. This position works under the direction of senior staff from NSVS.
Qualifications:
> Related post secondary education
> A combination of education and life/work experience may be considered
> Demonstrated strength in interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
> Understanding of best practices in volunteer management
> Ability to interpret policies and procedures
> Ability to write and interpret reports
> Demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills
> Ability to work flex hours, evenings, weekends as required
> Valid driver's license, personal vehicle and ability to travel within NAD
> Understanding of and/or experience living in northern Saskatchewan communities
> Above all the desire to assist people who find themselves involved in critical incidents/traumatic events
Assets:
> Experience working for a non-profit organization
> Experience in management of staff/volunteers
> Experience in crisis intervention services
> Experience working in a police environment and/or with victims of crime
> Knowledge of First Nations culture, history and language
