Job Description
Qualifications:
University degree (Social Work, Human Justice, Psychiatric Nursing, Chemical Dependency) or equivalent level of training and experience.
Demonstrate strong understanding of and experience working with Indigenous peoples and historical trauma affecting them.
Must possess a strong knowledge of Indigenous homelessness and the factors associated with it
Must possess a strong understanding of local Indigenous issues, be culturally competent and able to communicate sensitively

Must possess a strong knowledge of Indigenous homelessness and the factors associated with it
Must possess a strong understanding of local Indigenous issues, be culturally competent and able to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous people.
Minimum of two years experience working in the field of homelessness, mental health, and addictions.
Must possess as strong working knowledge of the Housing First framework.
Must possess a strong knowledge and understand of systems, supports, and available community resources for the successful delivery of services for persons that are chronically or episodically homeless including income supports, life skills support, health, mental health, and addictions services.
Must possess a strong working knowledge of addictions models including stages of change.
Must possess a strong working knowledge of harm reduction and the flexibility and understanding to work within this model in order to serve and meet the needs of program participants.
Ability to work independently and as a team.
Must demonstrate a proactive, hands-on whatever it takes approach to the provision of supports and services.
Demonstration of creative problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills.
Must utilize a non-judgmental therapeutic trauma-informed care approach at all times.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must possess valid Class 5 drivers licence and have daily access to a reliable vehicle to transport clients and execute daily duties.
Preference will be given to those of Aboriginal descent
