The Payroll Administrator role at the Coast Swift Current Hotel should embody these values. The role is best suited for an individual that is a team player, has a positive attitude and is a quick learner. The successful candidate should also enjoy working with people from different departments and levels, as well as have an interest in growing within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Handling assigned duties, such as payroll processing, statutory deduction and compliance, statutory holiday pay calculations, vacation calculation and timesheet tracking
Payroll processing of approximately 50 bi-weekly hourly and salaried employees
Knowledge of payroll legislation and employee standards
Assisting in accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
Auditing payroll processing reports for authorization, compliance, and accuracy
Benefit plan tracking and payments
Creating and running of reports for management
Auditing time and doing manual adjustments
Completing and filing garnishments including Family Responsibilities, CRA Year-end processes and T4 reconciliation
Processing manual cheque payments when required
Following established Occupational Health & Safety procedures and policies when completing tasks
Other duties as required
Qualification & Skill Requirements:
Proficient in MS Office with a strong knowledge of Excel
Proficient in English: written, verbal and reading comprehension
Ability to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
Detail-oriented, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Minimum three years payroll/finance experience. CPA designation an asset
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training an asset
