La Loche is a thriving Dene community with a population of over 2500 people. The community has all the usual businesses, stores, churches and government agencies including a hospital and daycare facilities. Views of the lake add to the charm of the town. The environment surrounding La Loche offers a variety of recreational activities and has an indoor hockey arena. An airport offers charter flights to communities further south and to the north.
Dene High School provides educational programming for students in grades 7-12 in a modern, well-equipped facility with an enrolment of approximately 499 students, 30 teachers plus 5 paraprofessionals.
This is a temporary, full-time position to start as soon as possible until June 12, 2020. The successful candidate must be eligible for Saskatchewan teaching certification). Salary is according to the provincial salary grid (www.stf.sk.ca) plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing and a northern living allowance. Moving assistance may be available.
La Loche is a progressive community located in northwestern Saskatchewan, accessible by paved road with many amenities.
