Safety Supervisor
Employment Terms: Full Time
Education: Completed at least some post-secondary
Job Description
Responsibilities:
-Supervise, direct, oversee and support work activities for Safety Team members
-Support, mentor and coach Safety Team
-Plan, lead, organize and control the delivery of daily operational tasks
-Direct and oversee work activities in regards to the Fire Prevention Program
-Support Leaders and Teams with respect to:
o Conventional Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Process Safety
o Priorities based on the hazard and risk registries
Responsibilities:

-Plan, lead, organize and control the delivery of daily operational tasks
-Direct and oversee work activities in regards to the Fire Prevention Program
-Support Leaders and Teams with respect to:
o Conventional Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Process Safety
o Priorities based on the hazard and risk registries
o Hazard identification, risk communication and risk analysis
o Authorization and permit to work systems
o Workplace inspections, audits and observations
o Non-conformance and incident investigation
o Change Management
o Contractor Management
-Prepare and assist in the preparation of reports
-Assist in the maintenance and analysis of safety data to inform priorities utilizing leading and lagging indicators
o Coordinate improvement initiatives
Skills and Qualifications:
-Safety Certification or active pursuit of a certification is required (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, NEBOSH, etc.)
-Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety is preferred
-5 to 10 years of experience in an industrial or mining environment
-Experience/training in the following areas is preferred:
o Hazard analysis and risk assessment
o Root cause analysis
o Behavior based safety and human factors
o Industrial Hygiene
o Emergency Response
-Familiarity with provincial and federal health and safety regulations
-Knowledge of the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Standard is considered an asset
-Demonstrated ability to teach and speak publicly
-Proficiency using SAP, SharePoint, Microsoft Office
-Past experience in the use of Synergie database is preferred
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake site
-14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
