Job Description: The RN(NP) working in the La Ronge Medical Clinic is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with their legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The RN(NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based interventions, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves working within the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) nursing program objectives, guidelines, and policies and procedures and building partnerships that support inter-professional collaboration.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Five (5) years experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency or critical care environment preferred
- Knowledge of wound care treatment modalities preferred
- Trauma Nursing Core Course preferred
- Valid drivers licence (Class 5)
Required Qualifications
Masters Degree in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Level C Health Care Provider (HCP) - Heart & Stroke
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA) as an RN (NP)
