Purpose:
This specific role will be accountable for Database Operations and Maintenance. As a member of the team you will be accountable for the system uptime and performance , working regular hours and on-call rotation (after hours/ weekend). Looking for someone to cover periods of week night activities as well as weekend daytime work.
Accountabilities:
Maintaining appropriate memory and disk space to ensure system performance
Troubleshooting live database issues
Maintaining the indexes
Maintaining established statistics
Checking database integrity
Assessing database integrity issues
Patching SQL Server for security flaws monthly if Microsoft releases a patch
Conducting established security check protocol
Considering and granting security access requests
Reviewing availability groups and assessing for high availability
Designing and communicating a disaster recovery plan
Performing SQL upgrades
Maintenance of MongoDB servers
Upgrades of MongoDB Servers
On call rotation required
Qualifications:
3 5 years of experience with SQL Server.
1-2 years experience managing SQL in Azure
Any experience with MongoDB.
T-SQL querying ability.
An educational background in computer science or software engineering is an asset.
Familiarity with software release cycles is an asset.
