Job Description
This is a full-time combined position working at the City RCMP Detachment, as well as the Financial Services Department. Duties include assisting with the work load, and providing complete coverage when required, in the areas of cashiering, customer service, and property taxation. You will be responsible for performing varied functions including secretarial in nature at the RCMP Detachment. Duties include
This is a full-time combined position working at the City RCMP Detachment, as well as the Financial Services Department. Duties include assisting with the work load, and providing complete coverage when required, in the areas of cashiering, customer service, and property taxation. You will be responsible for performing varied functions including secretarial in nature at the RCMP Detachment. Duties include general inquiries, accident/incident details, dispatch police radio communication, preparation of varied documentation, file maintenance, and other related duties. You may be assigned to provide coverage in other divisions and departments.
Basic Requirements:
. Completion of post-secondary or related programs in finance, accounting or successful completion of a secretarial or office administration;
. Must be able to meet existing R.C.M.P. security clearance standards;
. Must possess or be eligible to become a Commissioner for Oaths;
. One (1) to three (3) years of experience in customer service environment;
. Knowledge of customer service tools and techniques;
. Ability to collect, organize, enter and distribute large volumes of information with attention to detail and accuracy, in a timely manner;
. Ability to work independently and with a self-directed approach as well as the ability to work well with multidisciplinary teams;
. Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public and all levels of staff and management;
. Superior interpersonal, public relations and problem-solving skills, organizational skills, effective communication abilities and the ability to prioritize;
. Proficient with windows-based computer applications and financial software; and
. Must be willing to become Youth Certified;
Desirable Requirements:
. Typing/keyboarding skill of 55 w.p.m.;
. Previous experience with a public sector entity;
. Dispatching procedures; and
. Clerical experience in a law enforcement agency.
