Job Description
YTC is seeking 1 individual to fill the permanent full time position of Chronic Disease Dietitian in the Health Department.
The individual will be responsible but not limited to the following duties:
Work as a member of the Health team to plan/ deliver/report/administer & evaluate the Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative Program & assist with the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program and Brighter Futures Program
YTC is seeking 1 individual to fill the permanent full time position of Chronic Disease Dietitian in the Health Department.
The individual will be responsible but not limited to the following duties:
Work as a member of the Health team to plan/ deliver/report/administer & evaluate the Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative Program & assist with the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program and Brighter Futures Program as needed.
Travel to the 6 First Nation communities aligned with YTC and non-aligned communities as contracted
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nutrition plus completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship
Must be a Registered Dietitian with the Saskatchewan Dietetics Association or eligible to do so
Certified Diabetes Educator or willingness to obtain certification in 2 years
Understanding of chronic disease prevention/ treatment/nutrition through the lifecycle
Understanding of & ability to implement a population health approach to serving clients
Experience in or understanding of program planning/management/evaluation
Knowledge of childhood & adult teaching principles with both individuals/groups
Understanding of the social determinants of health & issues impacting First Nations people
Openness to learning about First Nations culture
Able to work effectively with a variety of clients/families other health disciplines
Able to work with a team, with self-direction & minimal supervision
Able to effectively communicate both verbally & in writing
A valid Drivers License is required and maintained
Assets:
Knowledge or experience working with First Nations culture
Salary: To Commensurate with qualifications.
