Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an Instructor Residential Renovation and Construction (RRAC). The instructor will work as part of a team dedicated to the success of students registered in our Carpentry program. The Instructor will be responsible for instructing all aspects of the Carpentry Program.
Areas of instruction include, and are not limited to: Tools and Equipment, Construction Documents and Quantity Survey, Site Layout
We are currently recruiting for an Instructor Residential Renovation and Construction (RRAC). The instructor will work as part of a team dedicated to the success of students registered in our Carpentry program. The Instructor will be responsible for instructing all aspects of the Carpentry Program.
Areas of instruction include, and are not limited to: Tools and Equipment, Construction Documents and Quantity Survey, Site Layout and Concrete, Footings and Foundations, Framing and Building, Exterior Finishing and Roof Coverings, Interior Finishing and Cabinets, Materials and Scaffolds.
Instructional delivery methods may include the use of technology and online platforms. The successful candidate must be able to (or willing to learn how to) effectively deliver curriculum via a blended or online delivery model.
Additional responsibilities include: site safety, planning and monitoring student work placements, classroom management, monitoring student progress and providing feedback, submitting necessary reports to Northlands College and affiliated organizations as required, and other duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications for this position are a Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyperson Ticket in Carpentry, and two years of previous teaching experience in the Carpentry Trade. The successful candidate must also have strong communication and interpersonal skills. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Accrediting Institute is Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technology. The instructor must meet the accrediting institutes requirements.
