Job Description
Perform intermediate professional work related to a variety of planning assignments.
Undertake in-depth research & prepare written reports & presentation.
Prepare servicing, development, easement & other agreements.
Assist with coordination & carrying out of public hearings, surveys, presentations, meetings & forums for public participation.
Work with internal RM departments & staff to gather information necessary for comprehensive review & consideration of planning applications.

Work with internal RM departments & staff to gather information necessary for comprehensive review & consideration of planning applications.
Work collaboratively with regional neighbours & First Nations to support & advance regional projects and initiatives.
Prepare maps using GIS & other mapping and graphic databases.
Prepare communications related to planning matters including newsletters, mail outs, forms & procedures, maps & other graphic presentations, web page content, newspaper advertisements & other related materials.
Perform field inspections to gather data relevant to the development review process and/or to verify that development projects comply with approved plans.
Draft enforcement letters & orders.
Prepare & coordinate copying & distribution of bylaws, forms & map changes (subdivision, zoning, etc.) to meet legislative requirements.
Undergraduate degree in planning preferably from a CIP-accredited university planning program or a closely related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a planning position. Experience in a municipal setting would be considered an asset.
Excellent communication (written and verbal), customer service & interpersonal skills.
Strong analysis & report writing skills.
Knowledge of & experience in the preparation of maps & graphic content using GIS & other databases.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Adobe suite products would be considered an asset.
Keen interest in planning issues as they relate to both rural & urban environments.
