We are seeking a Support and Training Coordinator for our social enterprise programs which employ individuals facing barriers to employment such as justice experience, housing insecurity, lack of education and experience, etc. This position works to support crew develop strategies to reduce professional or personal barriers in their lives.
DUTIES:
Participate in onboarding and intake processes of crew
With crew, identify personal and professional goals and develop strategies for achieving them
Identify limiting patterns and barriers for crew and provide brief solution focused interventions as needed
Maintain case files for ongoing support
Identify and utilize community services, education and training opportunities/resources
Identify and schedule skill training including tickets, certification and licensing
Develop transition processes for participants exiting the program to employment, education or social support options
Develop and maintain stakeholder networks to enhance transitional opportunities
Crew transport on case-by-case basis
SKILLS:
Ability to build relationships and gain trust
Empathetic, patient, non-judgmental attitude
Experience working with a diverse population
Excellent problem solving
Time management, organization and communication skills
Ability to establish priorities and proactively track and report data
EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of the systemic barriers faced by marginalized people seeking employment
Extensive knowledge of community resources
Familiar with Harm Reduction practices
Experience in human/social service field
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle, Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
