Job Description
Public Works Labourer 2 employees perform advanced tasks to maintain and improve municipal infrastructure. This role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and involves significant physical labor and technical skill. Responsibilities include complex maintenance and repair tasks for roadways (streets, lanes, sidewalks), water distribution and sewage collection systems, storm water systems, traffic signs and streetlights, and the cemetery. The

Responsibilities include complex maintenance and repair tasks for roadways (streets, lanes, sidewalks), water distribution and sewage collection systems, storm water systems, traffic signs and streetlights, and the cemetery. The position ensures that these systems are well-maintained and operate safely and effectively.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Certifications
Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license
Satisfactory results from a criminal record check and drivers abstract
Powered mobile equipment (PME) certification, or equivalent
The following certifications will be considered an asset and are required within the first 3 months of employment:
o Confined space (entry and monitor)
o Ground disturbance level 2
o Fall protection
o WHIMIS
o First Aid
Experience
A minimum of 1-year previous experience in a similar capacity
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must be able and willing to operate a backhoe or a loader
Knowledge of equipment maintenance
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able and willing to perform all duties of the job in various weather conditions for extended periods
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships
Good communication and comprehension ability - written and oral
