Position Summary:
The Financial Accounting Analyst is responsible for the ongoing operations of accounting functions including general accounting, reporting and analyzing inventory operations and processing payroll while ensuring compliance with GMCC's accounting policies and procedures.
Core Responsibilities:
General Accounting Functions
Prepares month end general ledger entries and generation of financial statements.
Calculate monthly expense accruals
Review accounts for reasonability, reconciling accounts and adjusting as required
Preparation of GST and PST returns monthly.
Prepare daily inventory transactional entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Understanding of payables, vendor management and multiple currencies.
Inventory Functions
Responsible for the daily accounting of the warehouse inventories including reviewing and adjusting entries as necessary.
Reconciles book inventory to physical inventory at month end this includes physical inventory counts.
Work with off-site warehouses to verify and monitor inventory.
Ability to understand multiple software systems and link them together
Payroll Functions
Process essential payroll functions.
Perform all regular monthly payroll journal entries
Understanding of pension and union reporting requirements
