Job Description
Under the general supervision of the Director of Leisure Services, the incumbent is responsible to plan, coordinate and maintain all facilities (leisure and others) that the city of Weyburn owns and operates. The Facilities Manager is also accountable to manage the capital and preventative maintenance budgets and plans for all city facilities, two (2) full time permanent employees, all service contracts
Under the general supervision of the Director of Leisure Services, the incumbent is responsible to plan, coordinate and maintain all facilities (leisure and others) that the city of Weyburn owns and operates. The Facilities Manager is also accountable to manage the capital and preventative maintenance budgets and plans for all city facilities, two (2) full time permanent employees, all service contracts and related contractors and also provides support to ten (12) indirect reports. This role requires a high level of decision making and communication skills as it is responsible for hiring, strategic short-term and long-term planning, determining scheduling of resources and managing staff performance. The Facilities Manager creates the facilities budget(s) for review and approval and is accountable for the management of said budget. As the contact person for all maintenance, capital planning and centralized maintenance budgeting, the incumbent requires exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Facilities Management Certificate or Journeyperson in plumbing, electrical, plumber, HVAC, or similar.
Refrigeration engineer certification would be an asset.
Project Management Certificate would be an asset.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum five (5) years experience (combined with education) working in a building maintenance environment.
Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety) and maintenance procedures.
Experience managing maintenance teams and overseeing projects.
Supervising a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.
