The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, Operations and Service Delivery, South region, required a Facility Service Worker to join their service team to provide a variety of maintenance and grounds duties at the Court House and various buildings within the Swift Current work unit.
As a member of a service-oriented team, you will draw upon proven maintenance experience and possess mechanical aptitude to perform minor repairs and maintenance such as unplugging toilets and drains, replacing valves, taps and washers, hanging shelves, dismantling walls and reassembling to meet client requests. You will also perform checks to HVAC equipment (i.e. boiler checks, maintain logs and life safety equipment) ensuring safe operating standards are maintained and met. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing a variety of cleaning and grounds maintenance duties (equipment repairs, blowing out water lines before freeze up) as well as responding to client inquiries and requests.
You must be in good physical condition in order to perform a variety of manual activities. The successful candidate will be required to operate grounds maintenance equipment, climb ladders and lift heavy objects. Candidates must possess a valid driver's licence. Candidates must hold a valid Fireman's Certificate of Qualification or be willing to obtain one.
The successful candidate will have working knowledge of building operations, repairs and maintenance as well as working knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and practices of carpentry, plumbing and electrical systems. You will also have the ability to perform minor building repairs and maintenance and the ability to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair problems or equipment to restore operation.
