Each day is different in this exciting career, as you will have the opportunity to prepare court reports, complete risk assessments, develop case plans and collaborate with community partners to provide an integrated approach to offender management and supervision in the community. The ability to work flexible hours, which may include evenings, and having a valid driver's license are requirements of this rewarding career. If you are relocating for this position, there is opportunity for relocation reimbursement with a 2-year Promissory Note/Return Service Commitment.
To qualify, you will possess a degree from an accredited university or college; or a minimum two-year diploma, with a focus on the principles of behavioural change and other assessment skills, this would include Correctional Studies, Justice Studies, Community and Justice Services, Social Work or Mental Health; or meet the grandfathering provisions in accordance with Community Corrections qualifications. If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you must have it assessed against Canadian education standards.
