Job Description
Subterra Horizontal Directional Drilling Ltd. is seeking an experienced Water and Sewer Foreman to lead our crews on underground infrastructure projects. Wage will depend on experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safety standards.
- Direct crews to maximize efficiency and ensure high-quality work.
- Perform and oversee staking to ensure design grades are accurately and efficiently achieved.

- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safety standards.
- Direct crews to maximize efficiency and ensure high-quality work.
- Perform and oversee staking to ensure design grades are accurately and efficiently achieved.
- Ensure all installations meet design specifications, codes, and project requirements.
- Oversee horizontal directional drilling operations.
- Oversee and participate in the installation of water and sewer infrastructure, including mains, service connections, manholes, valves, and hydrants.
- Collaborate with engineers, inspectors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain project progress.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in water and sewer installations or related projects.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with or around horizontal directional drills.
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and construction stakes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience operating Digi-Trak F5 locating system an asset.
- Experience operating Ditch Witch JT4020 drill an asset.
- Mechanically inclined and confidence in working on various equipment.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to lift 50 lbs +.
- Willing to travel, work extended hours, and work in extreme weather conditions.

- First Aid Level C
- SCOT
- WHMIS
- TDG
- Class 1A considered an asset
