Job Description
Chief Poundmaker School is looking for a Student Services Support Teacher.
Duties & Responsibilities:
> Develop and implement academic and social/life skills programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
> Develop and support academic and social/life skills programming for other students withIntensive Support Needs.
> Liaise with other classroom teachers, school psychologists, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists, and wellness workers to provide

> Develop and implement academic and social/life skills programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
> Develop and support academic and social/life skills programming for other students withIntensive Support Needs.
> Liaise with other classroom teachers, school psychologists, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists, and wellness workers to provide an integrated plan for developing the capacities of their students.
> Set learning goals for each student, assess their progress, record their evaluations, and write Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
> Duties include teaching a small group of Intensive Supports students both inside and outside of the classroom.
> Supervising and providing training for educational assistantsworking with the Intensive Support Students.
> Experience with Smartboards and adaptive technology for iPads and laptops.
> Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with the Education Director, Principal, teachers, and parents of students.
> Participation in staff meetings, supervisory duties, and school extra-curricular activities.
