Living Skies Housing Authority, a government agency funded by Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, has an opportunity for an Accounting and Payroll Manager to join their Finance and Business Operations team. Reporting to the Corporate Service Manager and with three direct reports, the position is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy of both financial and payroll records.

Reporting to the Corporate Service Manager and with three direct reports, the position is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and payroll functions, ensuring accuracy of both financial and payroll records.
What You Will Do:
Supervise the overall accounting and payroll processes and monitor the integrity of financial and payroll transactions
Ensure the appropriate controls and delegation of duties are established and adhered to
Perform month-end and year-end accounting and payroll processes including reconciliation and balancing of accounts, statements and payroll remittances
Schedule, assign and direct the work of the accounting and payroll staff
Lead the Accounting Services Committee in developing and improving efficiencies in processes and procedures within LSHA and housing authority network daily operations
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, LSHA senior management, Saskatchewan Housing Corporation, the housing authority network and other organizations and agencies
What you will need:
A university degree supplemented with an accounting designation or in the process of obtaining a CPA or RPA designation
A professional payroll designation or in the process of obtaining a Payroll Compliance Practitioner, Certified Payroll Manager or equivalent
Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards and payroll principles and practices
Proven ability to read and understand financial statements and budget reports
Superior attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Effective communication and proven supervision skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality, work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; JD Edwards experience is an asset
