Treating Plant Operator

Job Description
This position is responsible for the operation and day to day maintenance of the treating plant and treated wood storage area in a regulatory, environmentally safe and productive manner. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires strict adherence to safe material handling procedures and PPE requirements.

This is a safety-sensitive position that requires strict adherence to safe material handling procedures and PPE requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure proper personal hygiene and safety procedures are followed;
2. Ensure that all operational and environmental policies and procedures are followed;
3. Ensure that products are treated following industry standard guidelines in the most safe, productive manner;
4. Ensure all equipment is well maintained;
5. Circle checks of PME both inside and outside equipment are completed each shift;
6. Fuel and operate powered mobile equipment in a safe efficient and responsible manner;
7. Load and unload treating and fixation carts with proper wood as per orders;
8. Place treated wood in correct rows in the treated wood yard;
9. Perform daily, weekly, monthly and yearly checklists per TRD requirements;
10. Operate treating charges as per regulatory requirements and per manufacturers specifications;
11. Operate fixation charges as per regulatory requirements and per manufacturers specifications;
12. Perform all required treating and fixation testing per regulatory requirements and per manufacturers specifications;
13. Keep all areas of the treating plant clean including the tank farm, drip pad, boiler room, fixation chambers, office, washroom and lunch room according to TRD requirements and housekeeping standards;
14. Follow all safety practices, procedures and regulations;
15. Yard and road work in treated wood area;
16. Assist other loader operators when available in loading and forwarding of wood, posts, firewood or wood residue;
17. Attend scheduled training and meetings;
Position is 12-hour shifts; 6 to 6; days/nights
