The Member Nations Prevention Services Supervisor will provide an alternate approach to the well-being of the child, the family and the nations that is based on the development of prevention services resting on the foundations of First Nations values and beliefs. The Member Nations Prevention Services Supervisor will provide an alternate approach to the well-being of the child, the family and the nations that is based on the development of prevention services resting on the foundations of First Nations values and beliefs. The context of prevention services development will be guided by the Prevention Services Committee and nations resources, the support of family and the YTCCFS Inc. Prevention Services. The Prevention Services Supervisor will network with nation-based programs, the identified Prevention Services Committee and YTCCFS Inc. to provide relevant nation-based prevention services and resources. The applicant should understand the impacts of colonialism on First Nations peoples, Indian Residential Schools, intergenerational trauma and how these factors impact individuals and families and influence the child welfare system in First Nation communities. The Member Nations Prevention Services Supervisor understands the difference between the Prevention Program and Protection Program streams.
Qualifications:
Four (4) year University undergraduate degree in a related discipline and eighteen (18) months of related work experience.
OR
Degree or Certificate in Social Work or a related field of study.
A certificate in the human services field would be a definite asset.
Experience working in the human services field.
Experience in developing and implementing prevention projects.
