The MHCB School Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and structure to support Greenall High School and associated elementary schools in developing a safe, healthy and positive school climate and meet the objectives of the Saskatchewan Health Authoritys (SHA) Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) initiative. Working within the Comprehensive School Community Health framework, the School Coordinator is responsible for developing, delivering, evaluating and communicating a mental health action plan to support the mental health and well-being of children and youth. The position is accountable to the school division, reporting jointly to the principal and the Coordinator of Student Supports, and works closely with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) initiative.
What will make you successful:
Post-secondary degree in a human services field (social work, psychology, health promotion or education).
o Experience working in student-focused services such as addictions and mental health.
o Minimum five years experience working in mental health service delivery.
Specialized knowledge of mental health and addictions prevention and response in children and youth and best practices in school based mental health service delivery.
Good working knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of mental health and addictions service providers and demonstrated ability to engage community resources, treatment centres, social services networks, non-profit and private sector organizations.
Demonstrated ability to plan, design, implement and evaluate programming.
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally responsive services to a diverse group of clients.
Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
Strong communication and reporting skills, both verbally and in written form.
