Living Skies Housing Technical Services provides support to Saskatchewan Housing Corporation to repair and maintain housing assets throughout the province. Living Skies has an opportunity for a HOUSING INSPECTOR, based in PRINCE ALBERT. THE POSITION WILL:
conduct building inspections; identify hazardous substances and coordinate mitigation.
coordinate the building repair process and conduct building analysis.
require in-depth knowledge of building standards legislation and regulations to ensure regulatory compliance and tenant health & safety.
participate in project cost administration, cost estimating, contract preparation, compiling specifications and tendering.
require working knowledge of new and emerging construction technologies, energy conservation, environmental programs, building codes and procedures as they relate to housing.
YOU WILL BRING:
knowledge of property management practices and principles as it relates to maintenance and modernization of facilities.
familiarity with building codes, product standards and specifications, residential and commercial building practices, and principles.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Journeyman or Red Seal in a construction trade.
Architectural Technology or Civil Engineering Technology diploma.
Several years of project management and building construction experience.
Strong analytical skills relating to building sciences.
The position is classified as a unionized SGEU field employee.
Hours: Unregulated within any working day, normal office operating hours are typically:
Monday Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Annual salary range: $71,252 - $89,287 (Level 10).
The position is based in PRINCE ALBERT.
