Job Description
Flying Dust First Nation Administration Department is seeking a professional, highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of the Income Support Coordinator. The Income Support Coordinator will assist Flying Dust members/clients on-reserve in accordance to policy eligibility and on-reserve
General Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Distribution of Income Financial Support bi-weekly and/or monthly
B. Sending and receiving referrals from other First Nations or
Flying Dust First Nation Administration Department is seeking a professional, highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of the Income Support Coordinator. The Income Support Coordinator will assist Flying Dust members/clients on-reserve in accordance to policy eligibility and on-reserve
General Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Distribution of Income Financial Support bi-weekly and/or monthly
B. Sending and receiving referrals from other First Nations or in-house programs
C. Sending and receiving internal/external referrals from different resource programs (ie, Jordans Principle, Addictions, etc.)
D. Assist clients with supports such as; career planning, education & training, government forms, health cards, birth certificates, taxes, etc.
E. Assist clients with mental health support and one-on-one counselling
F. Interview clients, for preparing budgets, decision sheets and applications
G. Clerical duties such as; effective filing system, faxing and mailing/emails
H. Home visits as needed
I. Attend ISC meetings/workshops
J. Follow policy relating to the Income Assistance Program, delivered Indigenous Services Canada
Education and Experience Requirements:
a. Relevant Social Work Degree, or minimum 2 years experience of relevant training/work experience may be considered
b. Experience in working with First Nations Income Assistance Program
c. Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector is mandatory
d. Valid Drivers License
e. Knowledge/understanding of First Nations cultural values is an asset
f. Ability to use a computer database, electronic spreadsheets and understanding of basic accounting concepts
g. Attention to detail, numerical accuracy and strong organizational skills are required
h. Ability to interpret, understand and apply IAP Policy
