The position provides a wide array of support, to individuals who were chronically homeless, once they are in permanent stable housing.  The program is very flexible and provides an atmosphere of acceptance and non-judgemental approach when working with individuals in the HOMES Housing First program.
Ideal applicant should have:
Knowledge of the Housing First framework.
Knowledge and understanding systems, supports, and available community resources

Ideal applicant should have:
Knowledge of the Housing First framework.
Knowledge and understanding systems, supports, and available community resources for the successful delivery of services for persons that are chronically or episodically homeless including income support, life skills support, health, mental health, and addictions services.
Knowledge of addictions models including stages of change and harm reduction
Knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery values and practices
Knowledge in order to respond to residents disclosing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, hallucinations, delusions or other behavioral issues and symptoms.
Knowledge of safe working practices, proper hygiene/cleanliness/ food handling and nutrition.
Knowledge of internal policies, procedures and protocols
Knowledge and appreciation of indigenous history and culture
Knowledge on trauma, person centeredness, and harm reduction is an asset
