The City of Swift Current is looking for fun and energetic individuals who enjoy working with children and youth. Recreation Programmers are responsible for delivering various recreation programs. They are required for programs such as the Active Play after school program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., as well as Welcome to Recreation, Nature Play and Fun

The City of Swift Current is looking for fun and energetic individuals who enjoy working with children and youth. Recreation Programmers are responsible for delivering various recreation programs. They are required for programs such as the Active Play after school program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., as well as Welcome to Recreation, Nature Play and Fun Day programs.  Visit our City website to explore the programs you will be involved with as a Recreation Programmer.

Casual Recreation Programmers work from three (3) to twelve (12) hours per week, with programs running from September to June. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in a career working with children and youth!

Skills and Abilities
- Ability to deal with youth conflict and effectively manage challenging behaviors.
- Willingness to take part in physical activity and recreational opportunities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively speak with people of all ages.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated willingness to take initiative and be assertive.
- Effective problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications
- Available for evening and weekend work, as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, co-workers and volunteers.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Motor Vehicle Operators License.
- Completion of Respect Group Training and a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check will be required upon hire.

Desirable Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Previous experience coaching or working with children and youth.
- Previous program planning and implementation experience.
