Job Description
The Medical Office Assistant of Battlefords Family Health Centre will work under the supervision of the Clinic Coordinator of BFHC. The MOA is responsible for providing clinical support to the primary care team. This includes medical office assistant duties, including reception, booking appointments, recording vitals, and general office duties, which provide clerical and administrative support to team members of BFHC,
The Medical Office Assistant of Battlefords Family Health Centre will work under the supervision of the Clinic Coordinator of BFHC. The MOA is responsible for providing clinical support to the primary care team. This includes medical office assistant duties, including reception, booking appointments, recording vitals, and general office duties, which provide clerical and administrative support to team members of BFHC, as assigned by the Clinic Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have graduated, with a degree or diploma, from a recognized educational institution in a field related to medical office assistant support, or have demonstrated knowledge and experience as they relate to commonly used medical equipment and clinical assistant procedures in a medical office.
Must understand the requirements for management of health information, including the billing model for primary health care sites.
Demonstrated organizational abilities and interpersonal skills to meet the reception and clinical needs of two or more clinicians.
Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary clinical health setting employing a variety of health professionals and paraprofessionals is an asset.
Ability to work independently with demonstrated planning, organization skills, and strong communication skills.
Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, social media platforms, and video development process.
Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle during working hours
Must demonstrate an understanding of health and social issues facing Indigenous people.
Must be able to work as an effective team member and to work independently, in a self-motivated manner.
The ability to speak Cree is an asset.
Have a demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
A successful criminal record check with the vulnerable sector.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
