Position Overview
The Service Advisor acts as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department. This role is responsible for understanding customer concerns, coordinating vehicle service work, and communicating clearly with both technicians and customers to ensure a smooth and transparent service experience.
Key Responsibilities
Greet customers promptly and professionally as they arrive at the service department.
Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms and service requests
Explain recommended maintenance and repair options in a clear, transparent, and customer-friendly manner
Provide regular updates to customers regarding repair status, timelines, and costs
Ensure every customer feels valued, informed, and confident in the service they receive
Prepare accurate repair orders and service documentation
Communicate efficiently with technicians to relay customer concerns and ensure proper diagnosis
Review inspection results and prioritize recommended work
Obtain customer approval for additional work as needed
Coordinate vehicle pick-up, billing, and payment processes
Support the service team and contribute to a positive, team-focused environment
Ensure an organized and efficient workflow through the service department
Support the team in meeting service department performance goals
Follow all safety and compliance guidelines within the dealership and manufacturer policies
Qualifications & Requirements
Outgoing, friendly, customer-focused personality
Team player with a positive attitude
Willingness to learn and take direction
Automotive knowledge is an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
