Position Summary

The Casual Assistant Information Technology Generalist works in partnership with the full time IT Generalist and RODS' outsourced IT provider to support the efficient day-to-day operation of computer systems and applications in a secure environment. The Casual Assistant IT Generalist provides deskside assistance and technology, training and procurement support to management and other staff and keeps up-to-date inventory and documentation of RODS hardware, software, IT resources/licenses, and security roles. The Casual Assistant IT Generalist also decommissions old technology hardware.

Qualifications/Requirements

This individual must possess a basic knowledge of IT environments, IT security, computer trouble-shooting, relational databases, and procurement. They must also be comfortable learning new applications and processes. They will have a strong ability to communicate and work well in a both team and autonomous settings with little supervision while working for the greater good of the organization and clients.

Certificate in IT from recognized institution;
2 to 3 years' experience working with various technologies and basic troubleshooting;
Demonstrated knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications;
Demonstrated knowledge of customer services principles and practices;
Demonstrated ability to multitask in a dynamic environment;
Clean Police Record check/Clean Vulnerable Sector check.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment with extensive employee and public contact and frequent interruptions.

Total hours available is 220 hours.

Hours of work: Casual Monday to Friday, anytime between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.
