Job Description
We are a custom hydraulic cylinder manufacturer. We are looking for a permanent full time Mechanical Engineer at our Yorkton, Saskatchewan location.
Responsibilities:
Analyze engineering specifications & customer requirements
Design pneumatic, hydraulic & cylinder components in Solidworks
Select appropriate purchased components
Perform engineering calculations (materials, speeds, torques, forces, etc.)
Produce drawings & bills of materials using CAD & ERP tools
Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, machining

Design pneumatic, hydraulic & cylinder components in Solidworks
Select appropriate purchased components
Perform engineering calculations (materials, speeds, torques, forces, etc.)
Produce drawings & bills of materials using CAD & ERP tools
Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, machining techniques, finishes, etc.
Analyze designs & systems for compliance to applicable standards
Develop a test plan to verify that the equipment meets all relevant specifications including safety standards
Communicate with managers, productive team members, & customers for technical information & specifications
Preference will be given to individuals that show a positive demeanor, a mechanical aptitude & must have cylinder design experience. Expertise in Hydraulic Cylinders, Fluid Power &/or Fluid Conveyance business segments would be a bonus.
Requirements:
Exceptional written, verbal & interpersonal skills
Experience in hydraulic manufacturing industry
Ability to use Solid Works (mechanical CAD) effectively
Ability to work on multiple projects & handle tight timelines
Solid understanding of pneumatics & hydraulics
Understanding of CNC machining
Applicable safety & ergonomics standards
Familiar with product design
A post secondary diploma or degree in mechanical design, mechanical engineering or equivalent and a minimum of 5+ years experience in a similar position.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Understand quality control and documentation
Team player and self motivated
Must live in Canada & have permission to work in Canada
Previous work expwith Robotic assisted manufacturing
Previous work experience with ISO quality control environment
Fluent in Microsoft office
Previous experience with ERP system
