GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: The Radiation Therapist I is responsible for preparing, planning and delivering accurate and precise ionizing radiation treatments to cancer patients according to the prescription of a Radiation Oncologist. The Radiation Therapist I reports to the Provincial Leader or Site Manager of Radiation Therapy with daily work functions supervised by a Radiation Therapist II. QUALIFICATIONS: Education:- Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Radiation Therapy
- Certification for Basic Life Saver (BLS)-C
Memberships:- Licensed with Saskatchewan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (SAMRT)
- Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
Experience:- No previous experience
Skills:- Proficiency with a variety of computer systems and software applications.
- Ability to perform a range of Radiation Therapy methods and processes including treatment planning, simulation and treatment.
- Moderate judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a variety of alternatives.
- Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Human relations skills are required to develop formal relationships of a therapeutic nature to assist others in achieving their short or long term goals.
