The Fleet Services Branch is seeking motivated Journeyperson Mechanics to work across the province. Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will maintain, repair, and modify trucks, highway construction and maintenance equipment, light vehicles, and other machinery used in provincial operations. Duties include performing preventative maintenance in the shop and field, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and computerized issues, determining repair methods and timelines, and completing repairs to mechanical, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. You will also handle routine maintenance such as fluid and filter changes, brake and exhaust replacements, and hydraulic hose repairs, as well as developing or modifying equipment when assigned. The role requires computer data entry and retrieval, along with travel that may involve overnight stays. Applicants must hold a valid Journeyperson Certificate in Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics, Truck and Transport Mechanics, or Agricultural Machinery Technician; fourthyear apprentices may be considered. A Class 3A drivers licence or the ability to obtain one during probation is required.
