OFF Reserve Worker:

Role:
Assist and advocate for band members living off-reserve by providing advocacy, support, and referral services. Joint planning and consultation services will also be offered to Social Services staff on behalf of specific children and families living off-reserve.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend family court, Annual Ward Reviews, and Home Visits of those families who are Montreal Lake Cree Nation members

Assist and advocate for band members living off-reserve by providing advocacy, support, and referral services. Joint planning and consultation services will also be offered to Social Services staff on behalf of specific children and families living off-reserve.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend family court, Annual Ward Reviews, and Home Visits of those families who are Montreal Lake Cree Nation members off reserve
Provide support with a view to preserving the family unit
Provide support  and advocate for parents whose children are in the care of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Social Services (MSS)
To jointly go on a foster home visit with member(s) of the MSS staff as required
Offer services only under the direction of the MLCFA Inc. authority
Adoptions services will only be offered on a limited basis and generally only within a child's extended family
Perform adoption home studies and supervise an adoption placement
Prepare for and be present at Family Services Court as required
Make recommendations for the children in need of care, as well as joint planning and consultation services, and work with MSS staff
Develop and organize family and community resources and provide information with parents whose children are in care off-reserve
    Report to the Case Manager on a weekly basis regarding off-reserve cases, decisions made by the courts, and recommendations made by the agencies.
