Position Summary

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for a variety of tasks within the lab department and provides assistance as required. This position is required to work a twelve-hour shift schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:

-Responsible for ensuring coal quality specifications are met
-Perform laboratory procedures and analysis on coal, char and activated carbon samples to compare product quality to customer specifications
-Provide the required summary reports of product quality to management and operations to direct plant process adjustments
-Perform analysis as required for other areas of the plant and mine operation
-Provide additional support to the plant and mine with other assigned duties as required

Education/Experience

-High School Diploma or GED
-Post-secondary diploma in Chemical Engineering Technology or related field
-Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities
-Candidates must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word
