SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The MEMBERSHIP CLERK will be responsible for general administration as well as maintaining, updating and verifying the First Nation Register and Band List of Kahkewistahaw First Nation. SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The MEMBERSHIP CLERK will be responsible for general administration as well as maintaining, updating and verifying the First Nation Register and Band List of Kahkewistahaw First Nation. The Membership Clerk will be the first contact for members, visitors and staff. They will assist individuals through the application process for Indian Status to facilitate the determination of an individuals eligibility for Indian Status. The role also communicates decisions made by the Registrar and issue Indian Status Cards to those deemed eligible. The Membership assistant must be highly organized and have knowledge of the Kahkewistahaw First Nation values, culture, and traditions. The Membership Clerk will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Membership, Director of Operations and perform all other duties as assigned by the Chief and Council of Kahkewistahaw First Nation.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Be willing to complete the Possession of Certificate of Indian Registry course offered by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Group.
2. Possess a minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent with at least one (1) year of clerical support experience.
