The Ministry of Environment, Lands Branch is seeking a detail-oriented and tactful individual to join the Policy and Programs Unit as a Land Claims Policy Analyst in Regina. This position plays a key role in administering Treaty Land Entitlement and First Nations Land Claim selections through program coordination, research, analysis, and policy development.
We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical and research skills, knowledge of Treaty Land Entitlement, Duty to Consult, and government structures, legislation, and policy processes. You will have the ability to interpret acts, regulations, and policies, explain complex issues clearly, and compose accurate, concise documents. Building collaborative relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and service providers is essential, along with attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
In this role, you will provide correspondence, research, and policy recommendations; conduct First Nations engagement where appropriate; analyze data to develop reports and recommendations; and create queries and documents using various software tools. You will move independently through established processes.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position are obtained through an undergraduate degree in geography, land use planning, public policy administration, or related fields, combined with several years of progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
