If you want to help make a difference in the lives of youth in QuAppelle, we have a great opportunity for you. The Youth Mentor will assist in executing the Beyond the Bell Mentorship Program in
QuAppelle, Saskatchewan. This program is offered in various schools around Regina and is expanding into the community of QuAppelle. This position requires you to build relationships with youth, act as a positive role model and facilitate meaningful workshops to Youth Mentorship groups throughout the week to students in
grades 1-12. Some evening work may be required.
Responsibilities: This position is 4 hours/week
-Implement child & youth programming in a small group setting.
-Creating and facilitating interactive workshops for a small group of youth ages 6-15.
-Building relationships and providing mentorship to youth referred to YMCA Mentorship Program
- Comply with all YMCA Child Protection Policy and Procedures and complete all Child Protection training as
required.
-Communicating program success and activities to program participants, their family and through the Y network.
Requirements:
- Self-motivated and be able to work independently as well as part of a small team.
- Interest in lessons/program planning
- Demonstrate the ability to be a positive role model, mentor and authentic leader
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Criminal Record Check dated before start date
- CPR and First Aid upon start date
-Valid driver's license
