The Child-Minding position is responsible for providing nurturing care to children either residing in a YWCA shelter with their mothers or while their mothers are attending programming at a YWCA program. This person works with our staff team to assist with providing care and activities for children.

The Child-Minding position is responsible for providing nurturing care to children either residing in a YWCA shelter with their mothers or while their mothers are attending programming at a YWCA program. This person works with our staff team to assist with providing care and activities for children.
The primary focus of this position will be working directly with resident and non-resident children in a supportive capacity, engaging them in age-appropriate activities while their mother may or may not be in the facility. The Child-Minding position will be a positive role model and sensitive to the needs of diverse groups of children
Qualifications:
*Enjoy spending time with children of all ages, Ability and experience working with multiple children of different ages at one time who have experienced trauma, poverty, or homelessness
*Interest in literacy, arts & crafts and ability to participate in varied physical activities
*Cross cultural sensitivity and knowledge of diversity
*Be able to obtain a Criminal Records Check
*Have valid CPR Level C and First Aid
