Job Description and Responsibilities

The Financial Accountant is responsible for monthly accounting close processes, preparing journal entries and preparing analytical analysis as required. Additionally, in this role the successful candidate will be responsible for monthly account reconciliations, including analyzing balances and ensuring accounting treatment is in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This position reports to the Accounting Manager, Canadian Operations.

* Responsible for monthly accounting close processes, preparing journal entries including accruals, fixed asset depreciation and preparing analytical analysis
* Prepare monthly account reconciliations, including analyzing balances and ensuring accounting treatment is in accordance with GAAP and IFRS guidelines
* Record intercompany transactions, ensuring all accounts are in balance
* Prepare monthly reporting package(s)
* Assist with ensuring that adequate internal controls exist and are maintained
* Assist external and internal auditors in the performance of year-end and interim financial audits/reviews
* Ad-hoc reporting to support operations
* Assist other team members in completing corporate projects/assignments
* Assisting with preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
* Collaboratively work with various teams within the organization including Interpro Pipe and Steel management team
* Utilize problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills to understand the business
