Job Description
The Saskatchewan Animal Enforcement Agency (SAEA) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Animal Protection Officer to serve communities across the Province of Saskatchewan. Head Office in Saskatoon SK.
SAEA delivers enforcement services under The Animal Protection Act on behalf of the Province of Saskatchewan. Animal Protection Officers are designated Peace Officers responsible for investigating concerns of animal distress, ensuring compliance

SAEA delivers enforcement services under The Animal Protection Act on behalf of the Province of Saskatchewan. Animal Protection Officers are designated Peace Officers responsible for investigating concerns of animal distress, ensuring compliance with legislation, and supporting the welfare of animals.
SAEA follows a community welfare approach that prioritizes education, voluntary compliance, and responsible animal care. Enforcement action will be taken when required, with removal of animals considered a last resort.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Respond to and investigate complaints of animal distress.
2. Conduct inspections and gather information.
3. Maintain accurate records and case documentation.
4. Prepare investigative reports when required.
5. Work with veterinarians, municipalities, law enforcement, and community partners.
6. Provided education to owners of responsible animal care.
7. Extensive travel and occasional overnight across the Province of Saskatchewan for investigations and operational needs.
Qualifications:
1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professional conduct.
3. Organized with accurate documentation skills.
4. Experience in public safety, enforcement, investigations, community services, education, or related fields is an asset.
5. Willingness to participate in training and professional development.
6. Valid Saskatchewan drivers license and ability to travel.
Compensation:
1. Semi monthly salary with benefits.
2. Approved operational expenses reimbursed.
